Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects krueppel-like factor 4 (gene Klf4) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 51.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 65 kDa.
KLF4 is a Krüppel-like zinc finger transcription factor that can activate or repress genes through CACCC-type elements. It controls differentiation of skin and intestinal epithelia, regulates cell cycle and inflammation, and helps maintain embryonic stem cells. KLF4 is well known as one of the four Yamanaka factors used to reprogram somatic cells into induced pluripotent stem cells.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat small intestine tissue, rat lung tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse Klf4 fragment (Phe196–Lys384), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the human ortholog: 72.6%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places krueppel-like factor 4 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Highest expression in the colon. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
