Product Overview
Clone ACDB-11 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes plasma kallikrein (gene KLKB1) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 71.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 80 kDa.
Plasma kallikrein (KLKB1) is a serine protease that circulates as prekallikrein bound to high-molecular-weight kininogen. On negatively charged surfaces it and factor XII activate each other, starting the contact pathway of coagulation, and it cleaves kininogen to release bradykinin. Excess plasma kallikrein activity drives swelling attacks in hereditary angioedema, where it is a therapeutic target.
