Product Overview
Clone 18K09 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes klotho in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 116.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 62 kDa.
Klotho (KL) is a single-pass membrane protein expressed mainly in the kidney that also exists in a soluble form. It acts as a co-receptor that allows FGF23 to signal through FGF receptors, thereby regulating phosphate excretion and vitamin D metabolism. Mice lacking Klotho show features resembling premature aging, making it a subject of aging, kidney and mineral metabolism research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human fetal kidney.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human klotho.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Present in cortical renal tubules (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
