Product Overview

Clone AEOO-11 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes kinase suppressor of Ras 1 (gene KSR1) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 102.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 120 kDa.

Kinase suppressor of Ras 1 (KSR1) is a scaffold protein for the ERK/MAPK cascade. It brings RAF, MEK and ERK together at the membrane and, when bound to MEK, can dimerize with BRAF to promote MEK phosphorylation. This helps set the strength and location of Ras–RAF–MEK–ERK signaling, and KSR1 is studied in growth factor signaling and Ras-driven cancer.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places kinase suppressor of Ras 1 in the cytoplasm, membrane, cell membrane and cell projection. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200; Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200; Flow cytometry 1:100. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Mouse. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 102.2 kDa; observed band at about 120 kDa. A difference from the calculated size is common and can reflect post-translational modification, processing or isoform differences.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human KSR1.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
