Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets L-lactate dehydrogenase B chain (gene LDHB) in human, monkey, mouse and rat samples and is validated for flow cytometry, ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 36.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 37 kDa.
Lactate dehydrogenase B (LDHB, LDH-H) is the heart-type subunit of lactate dehydrogenase, which interconverts lactate and pyruvate using NADH and NAD+. LDHB-rich isoenzymes are abundant in heart and other oxidative tissues, where they favor converting lactate to pyruvate for mitochondrial use. LDHB is studied in energy metabolism and cancer metabolism research.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse brain tissue, rat spleen tissue, human tonsil tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A549 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human LDHB fragment (Glu237–Leu334), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 98%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, monkey, mouse and rat. UniProt places L-lactate dehydrogenase B chain in the cytoplasm and mitochondrion inner membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Predominantly expressed in aerobic tissues such as cardiac muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
