Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes laminin subunit gamma-1 (gene Lamc1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 177.3 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 150, 220–250 kDa.
Laminin gamma-1 (LAMC1) is the gamma chain present in most laminin isoforms, including laminin-111 and laminin-511, and so is found in nearly all basement membranes. Laminins bind integrins and dystroglycan to support cell adhesion, migration and tissue architecture. LAMC1 is essential for basement membrane assembly in the early embryo and is a common marker in extracellular matrix research.

Immunogen
Peptide mixture of laminin gamma1,2,3 (NKLNEIEGSLNKAKDEMKAS; DLEERVRRQRNHLHLLETSI; LQLDSHGALHHKLRQLEEES). Laminin gamma has only three subtypes of antibody to gamma1–3 reactive with all isoforms of laminin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Found in the basement membranes (major component). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
