    Biological background

Protein function (datasheet): Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins. Also implicated in tumor cell metastasis.

Cellular localization (datasheet): Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Endosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Lysosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Late endosome. This protein shuttles between lysosomes, endosomes, and the plasma membrane. Colocalizes with OSBPL1A at the late endosome.

Tissue details (datasheet): Isoform 1 is widely expressed, other isoforms are generally coexpressed with a more restricted distribution. Isoform 2 is expressed in skin, liver, skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, placenta, umbilical vein endothelial cells, neuroblastoma cells, lymphoma cells, hepatoma cells and astrocytoma cells. Isoform 3 and isoform 4 are expressed in muscle, kidney, liver, placenta, cervical epithelium, umbilical vein endothelial cells, fibroblast cells, embryonal kidney cells, platelets and several blood cell lines. Isoform 4, rather than isoform 3, is selectively expressed in peripheral T-cells. Isoform 3 is expressed in non- proliferating and differentiated prostate gland epithelial cells and in platelets, on the surface of erythroleukemia cells and in various hematopoietic cell lines. Isoform 5 is expressed specifically in striated muscle (skeletal and cardiac muscle). .

    • Supports comparative expression analysis across conditions, genotypes, or treatments when paired with appropriate controls.
    • Useful for confirming target presence and subcellular distribution using orthogonal readouts (e.g., microscopy vs. immunoblotting).

    Common research applications

    • Western blot (WB): Compare relative target abundance and apparent size/isoforms across samples; interpret bands in light of expected MW and potential PTMs.
    • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Assess tissue distribution and cell-type patterns; interpret staining with appropriate negative controls and antigen context.

    Notes for experimental interpretation

    • Consider isoforms, post-translational modifications, and processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or localization.
    • Use appropriate positive and negative controls (e.g., KO/KD, blocking peptide, or isotype controls) to support specificity interpretation.

As a monoclonal antibody, this reagent is expected to recognize a defined epitope, which can support consistency across lots when epitope accessibility is preserved.

We have observed staining in human pancreas testis. Are there any suggestions? Is anti-LAMP1/Cd107A Rabbit Monoclonal antibody supposed to stain pancreas testis positively?
From what I have seen in literature pancreas testis does express LAMP1. From what I have seen in Uniprot.org, LAMP1 is expressed in nephron tubule, mammary gland, brain, pancreas testis, placenta, plasma, liver, among other tissues. Regarding which tissues have LAMP1 expression, here are a few articles citing expression in various tissues: Brain, Pancreas, and Testis, Pubmed ID: 15489334 Liver, Pubmed ID: 19159218, 24275569 Mammary gland, Pubmed ID: 14702039 Placenta, Pubmed ID: 17897319, 8517882, 2584229, 2243102, 8323299 Plasma, Pubmed ID: 16335952
I was wanting to use your anti-LAMP1/Cd107A Rabbit Monoclonal antibody for WB for human brain on frozen tissues, but I want to know if it has been validated for this particular application. Has this antibody been validated and is this antibody a good choice for human brain identification?
It shows on the product datasheet, M00780 anti-LAMP1/Cd107A Rabbit Monoclonal antibody has been validated for WB on human tissues. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in human brain in IHC-frozen, you can get your next antibody for free.
