Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-LAMTOR1 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A06290-1.
Biological background
Biological context: Binds RNA. Seems to recognize a GAAA motif. Can bind to its own 3'-UTR, the FOS 3'-UTR and the ID 3'-UTR.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Cytoplasm., tissue context: Brain; neural-specific..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare LAMTOR1 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of LAMTOR1 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Immunofluorescence / ICC: Assess subcellular localization patterns and co-localization with compartment markers in cultured cells.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify LAMTOR1-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: Late endosomal/lysosomal adaptor, MAPK and MTOR activator 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LAMTOR1 gene. mTORC1 kinase complex is a critical component in the regulation of cell growth. Its activity is modulated by energy levels, growth factors, and amino acids. The four related GTPases, RagA, RagB, RagC, and RagD, have been shown to interact with raptor in mTORC1. These interactions are both necessary and sufficient for mTORC1 activation in response to amino acid signals. A protein complex consisting of LAMTOR1/C11orf59, LAMTOR2/ROBLD3, and LAMTOR3/MAPKSP1 has been identified to interact with and recruit the four Rag GTPases to the surface of lysosomes.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Cytoplasm.
- Tissue details: Brain; neural-specific.
- Research category: DNA/RNA,Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling,RNA Processing
