Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects lactase-like protein (gene LCTL) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 65.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70 kDa.
Lactase-like protein (LCTL, Klotho-gamma) is a membrane protein related to the family 1 glycosyl hydrolases. It is expressed in the eye lens and is needed for normal formation of the lens suture, which supports the optical quality of the lens. It is studied mainly in lens development and cataract research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human A549 cells, human A431 cells, human MCF-7 cells, rat C6 cells, mouse Neuro-2a cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human LCTL fragment (Asp67–Gln537), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places lactase-like protein in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
