Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes galectin-3 (gene LGALS3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA.

Galectin-3 (LGALS3, Mac-2) is a chimeric galectin with a single carbohydrate-recognition domain and an N-terminal domain that allows it to form multimers. It is found in the cytoplasm, the nucleus and outside cells, where it affects cell adhesion, apoptosis, inflammation and fibrosis. Galectin-3 also marks damaged endolysosomes, and it is widely studied in heart failure, fibrosis, cancer and macrophage biology.
