Product Overview
Clone 19L53 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes phosphatidate phosphatase LPIN1 in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 98.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 130 kDa.
Lipin-1 (LPIN1) is a magnesium-dependent phosphatidate phosphatase that converts phosphatidic acid to diacylglycerol, a key step in making triglycerides and phospholipids. In the nucleus it also acts as a transcriptional coactivator with PGC-1α and PPARα to regulate fatty acid oxidation genes. Lipin-1 is needed for normal adipocyte development and is studied in lipid metabolism and muscle disorders.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human A549 cells, human SH-SY5Y cells, human K562 cells, mouse 3T3-L1 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 8% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human lipin 1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places phosphatidate phosphatase LPIN1 in the cytoplasm, endoplasmic reticulum membrane and nuclear membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Specifically expressed in skeletal muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
