Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase IB subunit beta (gene PAFAH1B1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 46.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 47 kDa.
LIS1 (PAFAH1B1) is a WD-repeat protein that regulates the microtubule motor dynein and is also the regulatory subunit of the enzyme PAF acetylhydrolase IB. It is required for nuclear movement and neuronal migration in the developing cortex, and mutations in the gene cause lissencephaly.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human U87 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human LIS1/PAFAH1B1 fragment (Ile95–Arg410), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 100%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase IB subunit beta in the cytoplasm and nuclear membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Fairly ubiquitous expression in both the frontal and occipital areas of the brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
