Overview
Anti-Livin/Birc7 Antibody Picoband® is an antibody for Birc7 detection raised in Rabbit (Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG), with reported reactivity: Mouse. Commonly used in WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA workflows.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: Birc7 (tumor necrosis factor (ligand) superfamily, member 4); UniProt: A2AWP0
- Antibody format: Rabbit, Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG
- Molecular weight: 33 kDa
- Applications: WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-Livin/Birc7 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A02577-2.
Biological background
Biological context: Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF4. Co-stimulates T-cell proliferation and cytokine production.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein., tissue context: Macrophages; peripheral blood leukocytes, lung, spleen and liver..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare Birc7 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of Birc7 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify Birc7-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: Baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 7 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the BIRC7 gene. This protein is a member of the family of inhibitor of apoptosis proteins(IAP) and contains a single copy of a baculovirus IAP repeat(BIR) and a RING finger motif. Its gene is mapped to 20q13.3. It has got 280- and 298- amino acids. The protein is highly expressed in melanomas while lowly expressed in some lymphomas, fetal kidney, fetal liver, testis and thymus. BIRC7 plays a vital role in blocking apoptosis induced.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein.
- Tissue details: Macrophages; peripheral blood leukocytes, lung, spleen and liver.
- Research category: Adaptive Immunity,Autoimmune,B Cells,Cell Type Markers,Cytokines,Immune System Diseases,Immunology,Innate Immunity,T Cells,TNF Superfamily
