Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets U6 snRNA-associated Sm-like protein LSm8 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 10.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 16 kDa.
LSM8 is the Sm-like subunit that distinguishes the nuclear LSM2–8 ring from the cytoplasmic LSM1–7 ring. The LSM2–8 complex binds the uridine-rich 3′ end of U6 snRNA and supports assembly of the U4/U6.U5 tri-snRNP and spliceosome, so LSM8 is studied in pre-mRNA splicing.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human skin cancer tissue, mouse testis tissue, rat testis tissue, human ovary cancer tissue, human appendicitis tissue, human renal carcinoma tissue, human gastric cancer tissue, human melanoma tissue, human bladder cancer tissue, human tonsil tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A431 cells.
