Product Overview

Clone ADIF-13 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes protein LYRIC (gene MTDH) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 63.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 75 kDa.

LYRIC, also called metadherin or AEG-1 (MTDH), is a membrane protein found in the endoplasmic reticulum, nucleus and at tight junctions. It activates NF-κB signaling and promotes anchorage-independent growth, and it has been linked to metastasis and chemoresistance in experimental tumor models, making it a frequent target in cancer research.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human LYRIC Downregulates SLC1A2/EAAT2 promoter activity when expressed ectopically.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places protein LYRIC in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, nuclear membrane, cell junction and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed with highest levels in muscle-dominating organs such as skeletal muscle, heart, tongue and small intestine and in endocrine glands such as thyroid and adrenal gland. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200; Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 63.8 kDa; observed band at about 75 kDa. A difference from the calculated size is common and can reflect post-translational modification, processing or isoform differences.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human LYRIC Downregulates SLC1A2/EAAT2 promoter activity when expressed ectopically.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
