Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects macrophage metalloelastase (gene Mmp12) in mouse samples and is validated for ELISA and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 55.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 55 kDa.
Macrophage metalloelastase (MMP-12) is a matrix metalloproteinase produced mainly by macrophages that breaks down elastin and other matrix proteins. It is widely studied in lung tissue injury and remodeling, especially in models of emphysema and chronic inflammation.
