Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes E3 ubiquitin-protein transferase MAEA in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 45.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.
MAEA (macrophage erythroblast attacher) is a core subunit of the CTLH E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, where it works with RMND5A to provide catalytic activity. It also mediates contact between erythroblasts and central macrophages in erythroblastic islands, supporting red blood cell maturation and nuclear extrusion.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg /1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, rat PC-12 cells, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U251 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MAEA fragment (Met1–Glu349), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places E3 ubiquitin-protein transferase MAEA in the cytoplasm, nucleus, nucleus matrix and cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected at macrophage membranes (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
