Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes transcription factor MafG in human samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 17.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 18 kDa.
MafG is a small Maf basic leucine zipper protein without its own transactivation domain. As a homodimer it represses transcription, while as a heterodimer with CNC factors such as NFE2 or NRF2 it activates genes, including antioxidant and detoxification genes and globin genes, making it a common subject in oxidative stress and erythroid research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A431 cells.

Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human MAFG. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places transcription factor MafG in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in skeletal muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
