Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects myelin and lymphocyte protein (gene MAL) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 16.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 17 kDa.
MAL (myelin and lymphocyte protein) is a small tetraspanning membrane proteolipid that associates with lipid rafts. It is required for apical sorting and vesicular transport of membrane proteins in polarized epithelial cells and T cells, and in the nervous system it helps maintain myelin and axon–glia contacts.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells, human Raji cells, human HL-60 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human MAL. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places myelin and lymphocyte protein in the membrane and cell membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
