Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets mitogen-activated protein kinase 11 (gene MAPK11) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 41.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.
p38β (MAPK11) is one of the four p38 MAP kinases. Activated by MKK3 and MKK6 in response to cytokines and cellular stress, it phosphorylates transcription factors and downstream kinases that shape inflammatory and stress responses, often overlapping in function with the more abundant p38α.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, human SH-5Y5Y cells, human T-47D cells, human MCF-7 cells, human U-87MG cells, human HeLa cells, human K562 cells, rat lung tissue, mouse lung tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human rectal cancer tissue, mouse brain tissue, rat brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): THP-1 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MAPK11 fragment (Asp230–Gln364), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places mitogen-activated protein kinase 11 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highest levels in the brain and heart. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
