Product Overview
Clone 19M94 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes MAP kinase-activated protein kinase 2 (gene MAPKAPK2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 45.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 46 kDa.
MK2 (MAPKAPK2) is a serine/threonine kinase that sits directly downstream of p38 MAP kinase. Once phosphorylated by p38, it acts on targets such as HSP27 and tristetraprolin, controlling the stability and translation of mRNAs for TNF and other inflammatory mediators. It is a common readout in studies of stress signaling, inflammation and the DNA damage response.

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human MAPKAP Kinase 2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places MAP kinase-activated protein kinase 2 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in all tissues examined. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
