Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes methionine--tRNA ligase, mitochondrial (gene MARS2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 66.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70 kDa.
MARS2 is the mitochondrial methionyl-tRNA synthetase, the enzyme that charges mitochondrial tRNA with methionine for protein synthesis inside mitochondria. It supports production of the respiratory chain subunits encoded by mitochondrial DNA and is studied in mitochondrial translation and energy metabolism.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HEL cells, human HepG2 cells, human K562 cells, human Caco-2 cells, rat C6 cells, rat PC-12 cells, mouse Neuro-2a cells, mouse RAW264.7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.

Recombinant human MARS2 fragment (His143–Ala590), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places methionine--tRNA ligase, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion matrix. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
