Product Overview
Clone 18C83 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes chymase (gene CMA1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 27.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 27 kDa.
Chymase (CMA1) is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease stored in mast cell granules and released on activation. It can convert angiotensin I to angiotensin II, process other vasoactive peptides and degrade extracellular matrix, so it is studied in mast cell biology, inflammation and cardiovascular remodeling.

|---|---|
| Immunohistochemistry | 1:50–1:200 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human small intestine.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human mast Cell Chymase.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes chymase as secreted and also located in the cytoplasmic granule. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Mast cells in lung, heart, skin and placenta. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
