Product Overview
Clone 25M89 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes S-adenosylmethionine synthase isoform type-2 (gene MAT2A) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 43.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.
MAT2A is the catalytic subunit of methionine adenosyltransferase II, the enzyme that produces S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) from methionine and ATP in most tissues outside the adult liver. SAMe supplies methyl groups for DNA, RNA, histone and protein methylation, and MAT2A is studied in epigenetics, cancer metabolism and methionine dependence of tumor cells.
