Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes myc-associated zinc finger protein (gene MAZ) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 48.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 55 kDa.
MAZ (MYC-associated zinc finger protein) is a C2H2 zinc finger transcription factor that binds G/A- and G/C-rich DNA sequences. It was identified through its binding sites in the MYC promoter and also regulates other genes, including SP1 family members. It is studied in gene regulation, transcription termination and cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MAZ fragment (Met1–Glu430), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 98.1%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places myc-associated zinc finger protein in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Present in kidney, liver and brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
