Product Overview
Clone 20M07 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes melanocyte-stimulating hormone receptor (gene MC1R) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 34.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 35 kDa.
The melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) is a G protein-coupled receptor on melanocytes that responds to α-MSH and ACTH. Its activation raises cAMP and shifts pigment production from red-yellow pheomelanin to brown-black eumelanin. Common MC1R variants underlie red hair and fair skin, and the receptor is studied in pigmentation, UV responses and melanoma risk.
