Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects malonyl-CoA-acyl carrier protein transacylase, mitochondrial (gene MCAT) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation and ELISA.
MCAT is a mitochondrial malonyl-CoA:ACP transacylase that loads malonyl groups onto the mitochondrial acyl carrier protein. This step feeds the mitochondrial type II fatty acid synthesis pathway, which supplies precursors for lipoic acid and supports respiratory function. MCAT also helps assemble the small subunit of the mitochondrial ribosome, and it is studied in mitochondrial metabolism.
