Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes mitochondrial calcium uniporter regulator 1 (gene MCUR1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 39.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40 kDa.
MCUR1 is an inner mitochondrial membrane protein that regulates the mitochondrial calcium uniporter. It interacts with the pore-forming subunit MCU and is required for efficient Ca2+ uptake into mitochondria, likely by supporting assembly of the uniporter complex. It is studied in mitochondrial calcium handling and bioenergetics.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa whole cellhuman MDA-MB-231 cells, human HL-60 cells, human MDA-MB-453 cells, human A431 cells, human Caco-2 cells, rat spleen tissue, mouse lung tissue, mouse Ana-1 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human oesophagus squama cancer tissue, human ovary cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human placenta tissue, human tonsil tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human MCUR1. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 79.4% and 82.3%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places mitochondrial calcium uniporter regulator 1 in the mitochondrion inner membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
