Clone ABGA-13
Host / Clonality / Isotype Rabbit / Monoclonal / Rabbit IgG
Reactivity Human, Mouse, Rat
Form Liquid
Formulation PBS (pH 7.4); 150 mM NaCl; 0.02% sodium azide; 50% glycerol; plus stabilizers
Observed MW 52 kDa
Storage Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.

Validated Applications

Western blot 1:500–1:2000
Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200
Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200
Flow cytometry 1:30

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells, human HEL cells, human THP-1 cells.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse brain tissue, rat brain tissue.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human MEF2A+MEF2C.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200; Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200; Flow cytometry 1:30. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.Is a carrier-free (BSA-free) version available, for example for conjugation?
A.Yes. A carrier-free formulation without BSA, stabilized with trehalose and/or glycerol, can be prepared on request and is compatible with common conjugation chemistries. Please note this when ordering or contact info@biohippo.com. For storage at −20 °C, keep a cryoprotectant such as glycerol in the buffer rather than PBS alone.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: observed band at about 52 kDa.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human MEF2A+MEF2C.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
