Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 4 (gene MAP2K4) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 44.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 44 kDa.
MKK4 (MAP2K4) is a dual-specificity kinase in the stress-activated MAPK pathways. Together with MKK7 it is one of the few kinases that directly phosphorylate and activate the JNK kinases, and it can also activate p38; it is studied in stress signaling, apoptosis and as a tumor suppressor candidate.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat, Mouse) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human MCF-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human MEK4. It differs from the mouse and rat sequences at one residue.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 4 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Abundant expression is seen in the skeletal muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
