Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets meprin A subunit beta (gene MEP1B) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and ELISA.
Meprin A subunit beta (MEP1B) is a membrane-bound astacin-family metalloprotease found mainly in kidney and intestine. It sheds many cell-surface proteins and cleaves extracellular matrix components and pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and IL-18. It can also cleave amyloid precursor protein, and it is studied in inflammation, fibrosis and tissue remodeling.

Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Recombinant human MEP1B fragment (His73–Gln489), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes meprin A subunit beta as secreted and also located in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): The major site of expression is the brush border membrane of small intestinal and kidney epithelial cells.
