Overview

This product is an anti-MSLN antibody for target detection and characterization. Key identifiers include host species: Rabbit; Monoclonal; clone AEIO-13; isotype Rabbit IgG; reactivity: Human. Reported application contexts include WB, IHC, IP (as provided in the source record). Boster Bio Anti-Mesothelin Monoclonal Antibody catalog # M03266-1. Tested in WB, IHC, IP applications. This antibody reacts with Human.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Target: MSLN (Claudin-5).
  • Antibody format: Monoclonal; clone AEIO-13; isotype Rabbit IgG.
  • Host: Rabbit.
  • Species reactivity: Human (confirm in your model system with appropriate controls).

This description is intended to help interpret the antibody design and the biological context of the target using the fields provided in the catalog record, alongside general experimental considerations.

Biological background

MSLN (protein: T-cell surface glycoprotein CD3 zeta chain) is a commonly studied target in molecular and cellular biology. Functional context (as provided): Plays a major role in tight junction-specific obliteration of the intercellular space. . Reported cellular localization context: Cell junction, tight junction. Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Tissue expression notes (as provided): Highly expressed in brain. Expressed in many tissues. .

Research relevance and current trends

  • Research context keywords from the source record include: Cancer,Cell Type Markers,Tags & Cell Markers,Tumor Antigens,Tumor Associated,Tumor Biomarkers,Tumor Immunology,Tumor-Associated Antigens.
  • Current studies often focus on connecting target abundance/localization to pathway perturbations across models, tissues, and cell states.
  • Quantitative and multiplexed assays (e.g., imaging + immunoblot panels) are commonly used to compare phenotypes across conditions and time-courses.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting (WB): assess relative target abundance across samples, treatments, or time-points.
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): evaluate spatial distribution of target-positive staining in tissue architecture.
  • Immunoprecipitation (IP): enrich target complexes for downstream immunoblot or interaction analyses.

Workflow ideas (metafield): Validate MSLN antibody specificity using KO/KD control samples (WB/IF/IHC as appropriate), Detect MSLN expression by Western blot in cell or tissue lysates, Detect MSLN in FFPE tissue sections by immunohistochemistry, Enrich MSLN by immunoprecipitation from lysates for downstream analysis

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Consider isoforms and post-translational modifications (PTMs) that may shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
  • Apparent molecular weight may vary by sample type and processing (observed MW: 50 kDa; calculated MW: 23147 MW).
  • Control concepts: include appropriate negative controls (e.g., isotype, KO/KD samples) and orthogonal validation when feasible.

Additional product details (from the source record)

  • Molecular weight (observed): 50 kDa
  • Cellular localization (provided): Cell junction, tight junction. Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
  • Tissue details (provided): Highly expressed in brain. Expressed in many tissues. .

Would M03266-1 anti-Mesothelin Monoclonal antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?
As indicated on the product datasheet, M03266-1 anti-Mesothelin Monoclonal antibody as been validated on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
We are currently using anti-Mesothelin Monoclonal antibody M03266-1 for human tissue, and we are satisfied with the IP results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human. Is it likely that the antibody can work on dog tissues as well?
The anti-Mesothelin Monoclonal antibody (M03266-1) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with dog tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in dog you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
