Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets mesoderm-specific transcript homolog protein (gene MEST) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ELISA.
MEST (also called PEG1) is a paternally expressed imprinted gene encoding a protein of the α/β hydrolase fold family. It is expressed in mesoderm-derived tissues and brain during development, where it influences neuronal migration and dopaminergic neuron development. MEST is also linked to fat mass expansion, and it is studied in genomic imprinting, adipogenesis and development.

Recombinant human MEST fragment (Ala21–Asp320), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 97.7% and 98.3%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places mesoderm-specific transcript homolog protein in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in hydatidiform moles, but barely expressed in dermoid cysts.
