Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes protein MGARP in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA.
MGARP (mitochondria-localized glutamic acid-rich protein) is a mitochondrial protein expressed in steroidogenic tissues, retina and neurons. It regulates the kinesin-driven transport of mitochondria along microtubules, including under hypoxia, and helps maintain mitochondrial abundance and shape. MGARP is studied in mitochondrial trafficking, steroidogenesis and neuronal development.

Immunogen
Recombinant human C4orf49/MGARP fragment (Met1–Glu155), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 67.3%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places protein MGARP in the mitochondrion, mitochondrion outer membrane and mitochondrion inner membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the brain, adrenal gland and corneal endothelium (CE).
