Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets alpha-1,3-mannosyl-glycoprotein 4-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase B (gene MGAT4B) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 63.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70 kDa.
GnT-IVb (MGAT4B) is a Golgi glycosyltransferase that attaches GlcNAc to the α1,3-mannose arm of N-glycans, creating an extra branch needed for tri- and tetra-antennary sugar chains. It works alongside the closely related MGAT4A, which is thought to be the main contributor under normal conditions, and both are studied in glycan branching and glycoprotein biology.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human RT4 cells, human A431 cells, human Caco-2 cells, rat kidney tissue, mouse kidney tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human glioma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places alpha-1,3-mannosyl-glycoprotein 4-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase B in the Golgi apparatus membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
