Product Overview
Clone IEI-7 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes metabotropic glutamate receptor 2 (gene GRM2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 95.6 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 95, 200 kDa.
Metabotropic glutamate receptor 2 (mGluR2, GRM2) is a group II G protein-coupled receptor that forms dimers and signals through Gi/o proteins to inhibit adenylyl cyclase. Located largely on presynaptic terminals, it limits further glutamate release when glutamate levels rise, dampening excitatory transmission. mGluR2 is a research focus in synaptic regulation, anxiety and schizophrenia models.
