Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes mineralocorticoid receptor (gene NR3C2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 107.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 84 kDa.
The mineralocorticoid receptor (MR, NR3C2) is a nuclear receptor activated by aldosterone and also by cortisol. In kidney epithelia it drives genes that increase sodium and water retention and potassium excretion, raising blood pressure. MR is studied in blood pressure control, heart and kidney disease, and it is the target of spironolactone.
