Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects MICOS complex subunit MIC60 (gene IMMT) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 83.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 80–90 kDa.
Mitofilin (MIC60, encoded by IMMT) is the core subunit of the MICOS complex in the mitochondrial inner membrane. It is required for forming crista junctions and contact sites with the outer membrane, so it is essential for normal cristae structure. Mitofilin is widely used as a mitochondrial marker in studies of mitochondrial architecture and dysfunction.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places MICOS complex subunit MIC60 in the mitochondrion inner membrane and mitochondrion. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
