Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets interstitial collagenase (gene MMP1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 54.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 54 kDa.
Interstitial collagenase (MMP-1) is a secreted zinc-dependent matrix metalloproteinase that cuts the triple helix of fibrillar collagens types I, II and III at a single site. This first cut starts collagen breakdown, so MMP-1 is studied in wound healing, arthritis, skin aging and tumor invasion.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, human Caco-2 cells, human K562 cells, human U2OS cells, human MCF-7 cells, rat RH35 cells, mouse HEPA1–6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human mammary cancer tissue, human placenta tissue, human intestinal cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): PC-3 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MMP1 fragment (Asp124–Asn469), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
