Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects stromelysin-2 (gene MMP10) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA, ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 54.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 54 kDa.
Stromelysin-2 (MMP-10) is a secreted matrix metalloproteinase that degrades fibronectin, gelatins and several collagens, and it can activate other MMP precursors such as procollagenases. It is studied in tissue remodeling, wound repair and inflammation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat cardiac muscle tissue, mouse cardiac muscle tissue, human placenta tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon cancer tissue, human mammary cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MMP10 fragment (Tyr239–Cys476), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 74.4% and 73.9%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
