Product Overview
Clone ADGF-13 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes 72 kDa type IV collagenase (gene MMP2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 73.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 72 kDa.
MMP-2 (gelatinase A, 72 kDa type IV collagenase) is a widely expressed matrix metalloproteinase that degrades type IV collagen of basement membranes, gelatin and other matrix proteins. It is involved in vascular remodeling, angiogenesis and tissue repair, and gelatin zymography of MMP-2 is a common readout in studies of cell invasion, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
