Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets matrix metalloproteinase-20 (gene MMP20) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 54.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 54 kDa.
Enamelysin (MMP-20) is a matrix metalloproteinase expressed in developing teeth. It processes amelogenin and other enamel matrix proteins during enamel formation, and mutations in MMP20 cause a form of amelogenesis imperfecta.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human Caco-2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MMP20 fragment (Tyr124–Lys405), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 91.5%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed specifically in the enamel organ. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
