Product Overview
Clone 27M90 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes methylmalonyl-CoA mutase, mitochondrial (gene MMUT) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 83.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 78 kDa.
Methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (MMUT) is a mitochondrial enzyme that uses adenosylcobalamin, an active form of vitamin B12, to convert methylmalonyl-CoA into succinyl-CoA. This reaction feeds products of branched-chain amino acid and odd-chain fatty acid breakdown into the TCA cycle, and MMUT deficiency causes methylmalonic acidemia.

|---|---|
| Immunohistochemistry | 1:50–1:200 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells, mouse brain.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human MMUT.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places methylmalonyl-CoA mutase, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion matrix, mitochondrion and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
