Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects molybdenum cofactor biosynthesis protein 1 (gene MOCS1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 70.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 72 kDa.
MOCS1 is an enzyme that carries out the first step of molybdenum cofactor biosynthesis, converting GTP into cyclic pyranopterin monophosphate (cPMP). The gene produces two catalytic parts, MOCS1A and MOCS1B, and mutations cause molybdenum cofactor deficiency.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells, human Caco-2 cells, human HepG2 cells, human K562 cells, rat liver tissue, rat RH-35 cells, mouse liver cells, mouse Hepa1–6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MOCS1 fragment (Glu52–Arg584), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 86.3%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform MOCS1A and isoform 2 are widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
