Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects 2-acylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2 (gene MOGAT2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 38.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 43 kDa.
MGAT2 (MOGAT2) is an endoplasmic reticulum acyltransferase that adds a fatty acyl chain to monoacylglycerol to form diacylglycerol, the precursor of triacylglycerol. It is highly expressed in the small intestine, where it is central to re-forming triglycerides from absorbed dietary fat, and it is studied in lipid absorption and obesity.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HepG2 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MOGAT2 fragment (Met1–Cys334), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places 2-acylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2 in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in liver, small intestine, colon, stomach and kidney. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
