Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 8 (gene ADAM8) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 88.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 80 kDa.
ADAM8 is a metalloprotease-disintegrin expressed mainly in immune cells such as neutrophils and macrophages. It cleaves adhesion molecules and cytokine receptors and is thought to support leukocyte migration into tissues, so it is studied in inflammation and cancer.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Raji cells, human Caco-2 cells, rat PC-12 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U87 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MS2/ADAM8 fragment (Arg41–Leu290), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 8 in the membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed on neutrophils and monocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
