Product Overview
Clone 17M78 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes macrophage scavenger receptor types I and II (gene MSR1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 49.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 75 kDa.
Macrophage scavenger receptor 1 (MSR1, SR-A, CD204) is a class A scavenger receptor on macrophages. It binds and takes up modified low-density lipoproteins such as oxidized and acetylated LDL, as well as bacterial components and apoptotic cell debris, so it is studied in foam cell formation during atherosclerosis and in innate immunity.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells, mouse placenta.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human MSR1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places macrophage scavenger receptor types I and II in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform I, isoform II and isoform III are expressed in monocyte-derived macrophages. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
