Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets C-1-tetrahydrofolate synthase, cytoplasmic (gene MTHFD1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 101.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 102 kDa.
MTHFD1 is a cytoplasmic trifunctional enzyme of folate-mediated one-carbon metabolism, combining methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase, cyclohydrolase and formyltetrahydrofolate synthetase activities. It interconverts one-carbon forms of tetrahydrofolate that feed purine, thymidylate and methionine synthesis, and is studied in nutrition, development and cancer metabolism.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human tonsil tissue.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Jurkat cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MTHFD1 fragment (Lys21–Gln855), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places C-1-tetrahydrofolate synthase, cytoplasmic in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
