Product Overview
Clone ADHC-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes transcription factor A, mitochondrial (gene TFAM) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 29.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 24 kDa.
Mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM) is a DNA-binding protein that packages mitochondrial DNA into nucleoids. It also recruits the mitochondrial RNA polymerase POLRMT to promoters, together with TFB2M, so it controls both mitochondrial transcription and mtDNA copy number and is widely used as a marker of mitochondrial biogenesis.
