Product Overview
Clone GOG-13 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes mucin-16 (gene MUC16) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 1, 519.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 1519 kDa.
Mucin-16 (MUC16) is a very large transmembrane mucin that forms part of the protective glycocalyx on ocular, respiratory and reproductive tract epithelia. Its shed extracellular portion is the CA125 antigen, a long-established serum marker used in ovarian cancer research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human ovary cancer.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human MUC16.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes mucin-16 as secreted and also located in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in corneal and conjunctival epithelia (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
